PEARL CARE

Pearls want to be worn so wear them!

Pearls were originally born in the water and benefit immensely from absorbing the oils that your skin naturally secretes throughout the day. So go ahead, put them on and show them you care.

Do not store the pearls in an airtight package such as a plastic bag – remember, pearls need moisture. If the environment is too dry, the pearls may crack.

As a golden rule, let your pearls be the last thing you put on and the first thing to come off. Be very careful with chemical substances as they can eat holes in the pearl nacre.

Pearls should be stored away from other objects or jewellery that may scratch their surfaces. Wrap the pearls in a linen, soft cloth, or place them in a soft pouch.

Gently wipe the pearls with a soft cloth to remove sweat, excess oils or dirt before putting them away.

To prevent tangles and scratches, fasten the clasps and lay the pearls out in the box provided by us. When carrying jewellery, use a protective jewellery pouch.

Keep the pearls away from chlorine bleach, hydrogen peroxide, vinegar, ammonia, hairspray, perfume and cosmetics, as these substances will damage the pearl surface.

Even if the pearls on your jewellery are strung with the best threads, they can stretch and loosen over time. They can also break suddenly. To avoid losing the pearls to unforeseen thread accidents, get your pearls restrung every 1-2 years.
